Rajinikanth-Deepika's 'Kochadaiyaan' Teaser to Release on 9 September

The teaser of Rajinikanth's most-awaited film "Kochadaiyaan" is all set to get released on 9 September.

Confirming the news, "Kochadaiyaan" director Soudarya tweeted a message saying, "Excited to announce ... #Kochadaiiyaan teaser will release this september 9th ... :):):)"

"Kochadaiyaan" is an epic drama featuring Rajinikanth in a dual role - father and son. "Chennai Express" star Deepika Padukone will play the son's love interest, while Shobana is paired with the senior Rajini. The rest of the cast includes Aadhi, Jackie Shroff, Sarath Kumar and Nassar. The film will reportedly capture a war between three kings - Rajini, Jackie and Nassar - through various generations. 

The Rajini starrer is claimed to be India's first 3D film using motion capturing technology. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the superstar appear on screen after a span of three years. He last appeared in 2010 release "Endhiran" ("Robot").

The trailer of "Kochadaiyaan" was expected to get released during the Cannes film festival, France, in May. But the film's team backed out as they were still working on the final output of the trailer. Now that the teaser is releasing on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, it will be a big treat for the superstar's fans.

The film will be released in various languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and English as Rajini has a huge fan following overseas as well. The Telugu version of the epic drama is titled "Vikramasimha" and the film is expected to have a simultaneous release with the Tamil version.

"Hi all ...Kochadaiiyaan is Vikramasimha in Telugu....Dubbing started for the Telugu version today!" Soundarya tweeted on 25 August.

Rajini's daughter is making her debut as a director with "Kochadaiyaan", a film which is reportedly made on a budget of ₹125 crore as it involves a lot of special effects. Its music is composed by Oscar-winner AR Rahman. Recently, a sneak preview of the song crooned by singer SPB was released on video-sharing website YouTube. In the video, SPB talks about the song "Medhuvaaga Thaan", which he has sung along with Sadhana Sargam.

There is no clear information on "Kochadaiyaan" release date. Some reports suggest that the film might release during Diwali, while others speculate that it might hit the screens on Rajini's birthday (12 December). But, an official word on the same is still awaited.
