Finnish handset maker Nokia released the much awaited Lumia 925 in the Indian market a few days ago, bringing cheers to consumers.

Taking note of its internal specifications, some consider Lumia 925's price-tag of ₹34,169 to be over-priced compared to more popular high-end smartphones like LG-Google Nexus 4 which boasts of richer features and costs almost ₹8,000 less than the Nokia phone.

The new Nokia phone is backed by rich camera-specifications, whereas the Google Nexus 4 has an amazing user-interface features of pure Android stock OS. It remains to be whether Indian buyers will be charmed by Lumia's camera or opt for the smooth functionalities of the LG smartphone

Brief comparison of key features between the LG-Google Nexus 4 and the new Nokia Lumia 925:

Display:

Nokia's metal-clad Lumia 925 flaunts a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA display with HD 1280x768 resolution having pixel density close to 334 ppi (pixels per inch). On the other hand, Nexus 4 sports a slightly bigger 4.7-inch WXGA IPS HD screen panel 1280x768p resolution with pixel density close to 318 ppi. Both smartphones boast of scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2 shield on the screen.

Processor:

In this aspect, LG handset wins hands down with its superior Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor which can top a CPU speed up to 1.5GHz. On the other hand, Lumia 925 features a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset.

Google Nexus 4 also features 400MHz Adreno 320 graphics engine with a sumptuous 2GB RAM. In comparison, the Lumia phone ships with an Adreno 225 GPU with 1GB RAM which is a bit disappointing considering the fact that it is almost ₹8,000 costlier than the LG phone.

Camera:

The main USP of Lumia 925 is its camera features. It flaunts a stunning 8.7-megapixel PureView camera on the rear side with dual-LED flash support, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and Carl Zeiss Tesser optics, six physical lenses. The phone is also capable of recording 1080p full HD video at 30 fps. The phone dons a 1.2-megapixel wide-angle HD camera capable of taking 1280x960p resolution images. To further enhance the photography experience, the Nokia phone comes loaded with Pro Camera application which lets a first-time user take stunning pictures with ease thanks to intuitive control options and photo editor.

On the other hand, Google Nexus 4 sports a standard 8.0-megapixel main camera along with a 1.3-megapixel front camera. The rear-side camera has auto-focus, LED flash, 4X digital zoom and other standard features. It is to be noted that both the primary and secondary cameras of the LG phone can record full HD 1080p video at 30 fps (frames per second) speed.

Mobile Operating System:

Like all Android smartphones, Nexus 4 has an upper hand over Windows Phone 8 OS powered Lumia 925. In terms of interface, both Android and Windows OS have their own individuality attracting different user base. The only problem of Windows OS is that it has a deficit in terms of number of apps and games compared to Android's huge eco-system. In time, Nokia and Microsoft are expected to overcome this problem soon.

Price:

As per a recent report, the price of LG's Google Nexus 4 is hovering around ₹25,000 in the market whereas Nokia's new flagship handset price is varying around ₹34,000 on various e-retailer websites.

If smartphone buyers are looking for a high-end smartphone with great camera features, Lumia 925 makes a smart bet but Nexus 4 is no less of a competitor. Tech gurus across the globe have given a big thumbs-up to the feature-rich Nexus 4 for its internal specifications as well as its smooth user-interface thanks to pure Android stock OS. Many consider that the LG smartphone is worth every penny.
