The official trailer of Gopichand-Taapsee starrer "Sahasam" was unveiled on Wednesday.

"Sahasam" is an action-adventure film set in the backdrop of 1947 and is directed by Chandra Shekhar Yelti. The film revolves around a Shakthi Peetam (a place of worship) in Pakistan. The film is produced by BVSN Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra India Pvt.Ltd banner and Reliance Entertainment is presenting it.

Speaking about the film, Gopichand said, "I loved the point said by Chandrasekhar Yeleti. When he was hesitating, whether to do or not do the film, I convinced him that the story is very innovative and good. We have shot for a month in Ladakh and we have to work hard as the oxygen levels were very low there. But watching the trailer, we are very happy that our hard work has paid off," reported Indiaglitz.com.

"Prasad sir and Reliance Sridhar has [have] helped me so much. I have learnt horse riding for this film. Sri has given an excellent background score. We are confident of the hit of the movie," he said.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "The trailer of Telugu film #Sahasam... Very slick!"

This is the second time actress Taapsee Pannu has been paired with Gopichand. The lead stars were last seen in 2011 release "Mogudu". While "Mogudu" was a family drama, "Sahasam" belongs to the genre of fantasy films. According to the film's trailer, it has all the ingredients - fun, love, action and adventure - to make it a commercial success.

Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor dons the role of a villian. The film was initially titled "Jackpot" but was later changed to "Sahasam". The last time when director Yelti teamed up with Gopichand was for the 2006 release "Okkadunnadu". "Sahasam" is about a treasure hunt. The film's score is composed by Sri Kommineni. It is expected to get release in the last week of May.
