The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) at their home ground Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on Wednesday. It is the 43th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 and their first meeting in the IPL.

Overview:

SRH are placed in the middle of the table with 10 points after winning five of the nine games played so far. They are taking on MI after conceding back-to-back defeats in the last two matches. The eight-wicket lost to Rajasthan Royals in the previous must have wounded them. They will be looking forward to win on Wednesday.

MI are placed just above SRH on the table. They have earned 12 points after winning six of the nine matches played so far. They won their last three matches against Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab. The wins will boost their confidence level, and they will be keen to keep the momentum going.

Previous Meetings:

The two teams will meet for the first time in IPL. MI have played against the erstwhile Deccan Chargers twice in the past and won on both occasions.

Team News:

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Top order - Akshath Reddy, Shikhar Dhawan, Kumar Sangakkara, Hanuma Vihari, Karan Sharma and Thisara Perera - put up only 20 runs on the board in the previous match against Rajasthan Royals. It was Darren Sammy's knock of 60 and contribution from the tailenders that helped the team put up a total of 144. Cameron White, who led the side in a few matches, is expected to return to the team. The top order need to fire before it's too late.

They boast of one of the strongest bowling line-ups in Dale Steyn, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, Thisara Perera and Darren Sammy but their performance has been inconsistent. They managed to take only two wickets in the previous which will worry the think tanks of the team. They will be expected to take early wickets on Wednesday and restrict the total of the opponents.

Mumbai Indians: Dream opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting has been separated after the latter was dropped due to continuing poor form. But the good news is stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Dwayne Smith and Kieron Pollard are in good form. They put up a total of 174 runs in the previous match and won it.

Harbhajan Singh bounced back with a three-wicket haul in the previous match after a poor show this season. Mitchell Johnson, Pragyan Ojha and Dhawal Kulkarni took two wickets apiece while Lasith Malinga took one. They bowled out the opponents but almost allowed them to chase down a big total.

Prediction:

SRH are a well-balanced team but considering the current form, MI are the favourites to win on Wednesday.
