The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on each other for the first time in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Saturday.

Overview:

The CSK put up a stunning 10-wicket win over the Kings XI Punjab after conceding defeat to the Mumbai Indians in their opening match. The two-time champions have two points on the table.

The RCB are currently on top of the table with six points after winning three of the four matches played so far. The only lost was against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a super over. They will be keen to keep the winning momentum.

Expect lots of firework in Staturday's match, as both the teams boast of some powerful hitters.

Previous Meetings:

The CSK and RCB have played 12 times in the past, and the former has 7-5 win-lost record against the latter.

Team News:

Chennai Super Kings: They lost their first match to Mumbai Indians but bounced back in the next game. Openers Murali Vijay and Michael Hussey led the team to a victory against KXIP in their previous match. With Ms Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo and Subramaniam Badrinath in the batting line-up, they are no doubt a strong team.

In the bowling department, they have Dirk Nannes, Ankit Rajpoot, Chris Morris, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Chris Gayle has proved why he is considered as one of the world's most destructive batsmen. Skipper Virat Kohli has made his presence felt with his consistent performance, including 93 runs from 47 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They also have Ab De Villiers, Moises Henriques and Mayank Agarwal, who can turn a match around.

However, the team will miss the service of veteran spinner Muttiah Muralidaran and explosive batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan, as the BCCI has directed the IPL teams not to field Sri Lankan players in the matches held in Chennai following a letter from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa over Sri Lankan Tamils issue.

They have bowlers like Vinay Kumar, RP Singh, Jaydev Unadkat and Murali Kartik at their disposal.

Prediction:

CSK have good record at home but RCB are one of the most consistent teams in IPL sixth season. Kohli's men are favourite to win on Saturday.
