National Award-winning actress Priyamani will have to re-shoot an item number with Shahrukh Khan for the upcoming film "Chennai Express".

According to reports, the item song which was shot in February will be filmed again in compliance with the Censor Board's strict rules on item numbers.

If an item song has obscene content or portrays woman in a bad light, the the song will be given an "A" certificate (Adults Only) meaning it will not be broadcast whenever the film is shown on TV.

The Censor Board will examined the dance numbers purely on a case-to-case basis to check whether they are suitable for a U, UA, or A certificate, said Leela Samson, Chairperson, CBFC.

Following the Censor Board's rule, Shahrukh has decided not to include raunchy scenes in the item song for "Chennai Express". The song will be shot again without any obscenities and Raju Sunderam will choreograph it.

"So Prabhu Dheva's elder brother Raju Sunderam, who is a formidable name in choreography and who hardly ever steps into Bollywood, was coaxed to do the item song for "Chennai Express," a source told Daily News Analysis.

"Shah Rukh in any case has a family image. But now with all eyes of the moral police focused on item songs, he has decided not to go anywhere close to raunchy. His brief to Raju Sunderman was to make it fun but not raunchy."

Priyamani danced with Shahrukh Khan along with group dancers last month. This is the first time Priyamani is working with Shahrukh on a project.

The song titled "1, 2, 3, 4... Dabbankoothu hardcore..." has a lot of south Indian dance moves. It is composed by musical duo Vishal-Shekar.
