HP Unveils Windows 8 Ultrabooks and Tablet-PC; Eyes 25-30 percent Sales
Hewlett Packard (HP) rolled out its all new Windows 8-powered Ultrabook, hybrid and all-in-one PC to India with prices ranging between ₹59,990 and ₹71,990.

The US-based company hopes to gain sales volume of 25-30 percent in the coming year with its latest line up. "Windows 8 is a relatively new platform...if 25-30 percent of the sales came from Windows 8, we would be very happy," said Rajiv Srivastava, HP India President Printing and Personal Systems, reported Press trust of India.
He also said that products powered by Windows 8 operating system will be made available for as low as ₹20,000, while touch-enabled devices will be priced higher. Added features like HD Camera and security capabilities would likely help the company gain a lead in the PC market.
"HP's portfolio of ultra thin notebooks, sleek AIOs and high performance PCs is designed to meet the needs of customers who have been eagerly waiting for the Windows 8 OS," said Srivastava.
HP's new devices are listed below with specifications:
HP ENVY x2
HP ENVY x2 is a hybrid device which can turn into a notebook or a tablet when the keyboard is removed. It sports an 11.6-inch diagonal HD touchscreen, an 8-megapixel camera with HD web cam and near field communication (NFC) technology among its features. The company claims the device will give seven hours of HD video playback or 12.25 hours when docked to form a notebook. The device is priced at ₹59,990 and is expected to hit stores in January.
HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook 4
This device falls in the same price range as HP ENVY x2. It measures 23 mm in thickness and weighs 2.16 kg. Amongst it features are a bigger 14-inch multitouch HD screen, special audio features like subwoofer with Beats Audio, optional AMD graphics and 2GB graphics memory. It is expected to give a battery backup up to five hours.
HP ENVY 23 TouchSmart all-in-one PC
The device comes with a 10-point multitouch technology, 1TB of storage and a 23-inch diagonal HD display that's backed by Intel Core i5 processor. It is priced at ₹71,990 and will be available on Dec 20.
