After weeks of speculation on HTC's new pet project, code named 'M7', there are reports that the smartphone will see a launch early next year.

The M7 smartphone, which is seen as a successor to HTC's most celebrated One X, is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, which will be held February in Barcelona, reported Unwired View.

The specifications of M7 is sure to raise the standards of the smartphone industry, considering that its 468 ppi screen is said to have 40 percent higher resolution than that of Apple's latest iPhone 5.

The smartphone's camera comes with image enhancing technology Cinesensor, which boosts image quality. It also features HD video recording and super slow-motion video playback.

The Taiwan-based electronics major is said to be signed a partnership with US carriers Verizon and Sprint to launch M7 in the US. The date of release is still kept under wraps.

Many handset manufacturers are set to launch new smartphones in two upcoming electronics showcase events - the MWC and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) which will take place January in Las Vegas.

Samsung has released a teaser video tagged as 'Get Ready' for CES without revealing much, but the company is speculated to release new OLED based Smart Televisions. Various reports suggest that the South Korean company is planning to launch its rumoured Galaxy S4 smartphone in MWC.
