British luxury car maker Rolls Royce introduced wedding editions of their two car models - Ghost and Phantom - in India on Friday.

The latest editions of the best selling cars were introduced in order to get a firm grip in the wedding season market which will begin Oct 30. According to Rolls Royce, there are several couples who are already in talks with the company to purchase the wedding cars.

"The wedding season begins on October 30. Requests have started coming in and there are two couples right now who are talking to our dealers about giving personal touches to the cars they want," said Herfried Hasenoehrl, GM, emerging markets Asia, to The Economic Times.

The company offers the flexibility for customers to choose their choice of colours, veneer, interior designs and the ornamentation of the couple's names. The luxury car sales market in India has seen a growth since 2005 and Rolls Royce alone has sold more than 200 cars in the past seven years.

According to reports, the country has brought around 100 super-luxury cars in 2011 and this number is expected to rise up by 50 percent this year. Rolls Royce also aims sales of 130 to 150 unit cars per year by 2015. With the current growth rate in the luxury car market India stands third in the Asia Pacific region.

"India has the potential to be the largest market in Asia Pacific by 2015 from its current number three position," said Hasenoehrl.

The existing versions of Ghost and Phantom is available in the country at prices ₹2.5 crore and ₹4.5 crore, respectively. The new roll out from the luxury car maker is likely to work well in India being a nation that celebrates weddings lavishly.
