Indian family drama film "English Vinglish" starring Sridevi couldn't do as much business as "OMG! Oh My God" did in its first week, but the movie still managed to fare well at the domestic box office.

Gauri Shinde's highly appreciated movie opened to dull start, but picked up later during the weekends largely due to positive reviews. The movie's collections dropped considerably on Monday but grew steady in the following weekdays collecting ₹21 crore at the box office.

According to trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, "English Vinglish" collected ₹2.51 crore on the first day, ₹4.5 crore on Saturday, ₹6.27 crore on Sunday, ₹2.05 crore on Monday, ₹2 crore on Tuesday, ₹1.9 crore on Wednesday and ₹1.7 crore on Thursday.

Paresh Rawal's "OMG! Oh My God" followed a similar route and now the movie is still going strong at the domestic office, giving a tough competition to "English Vinglish".

The satirical-comedy film made good business in the second week collecting approximately ₹23.5 crore in the second week. The overall domestic BO total of the film is now ₹60 crore.

It's second week collection was more than that of "English Vinglish" first day collection. The movie remained unaffected by new releases like "Kismet Love Paisa Dilli" and continued to rule the ticket collection windows in its second week.

Meanwhile, Friday's new releases like "Aiyaa", "Bhoot Returns", "Chittagong" and "Makkhi" might affect the business of both "OMG! Oh My God" and  "English Vinglish".
