Amazon Kindle Fire HD Pre-Order Begins Despite Awaiting FCC Approval

The newly unveiled devices of Amazon.com are yet to get the approval of Federal Communications Commission. Interestingly, the devices are up for pre-order even before getting the approval.

According to The times of India, a pre booking confirmation order was sent by the company after the announcement of larger Kindle Fire tablets on Thursday, surprising many as FCC is yet to approve it. "We will send you an email asking you to confirm your pre-order of Kindle Fire when it is approved for sale by the Federal Communications Commission," stated the press statement. 

For any wireless communication product, the FCC's approval is unavoidable in order to ensure the safety of the product. Although the press release which announced the launch of Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch 4G Tablets quoted that the device may not be up for sale until it gets the authorization from FCC, the email sent as the pr-eorder confirmation has confused the tech world and the consumers. The products which do not have FCC approval cannot accept orders and payments from consumers, TOI reported.

The world’s largest retailer took off the cover of its larger Kindle Fire tablets on Thursday with an expectation to put a tough competition to Apple’s iPad. Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch 4G tablet comes with an 8.9-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) display with 254 ppi. The device is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP processor. It sports integrated stereo speakers with exclusive Dolby audio engine. Though the date of shipping and the sales of the products have been confirmed by the company, it is not certain whether the company will get the approval of FCC.
