Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's TV show "Satyamev Jayate," has created such a massive impact that the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Rajya Sabha has now invited the actor to share his findings regarding malpractices in the medical sector.

Aamir becomes the first Bollywood personality to enter the House without a political identity.

Spokesperson for Aamir Khan has reportedly confirmed this news and said that the actor along with 'Satyamev Jayate' team will be going to the House of Elders (Rajya Sabha) on Thursday, on invitation by the parliamentarians.

This comes a day after the news about the impact of 'Satyamev Jayate' in Maharashtra, wherein the state government has announced to make generic medicines available in government hospitals and to set up government-aided medical stores across the state, following Aamir's exposure on malpractices in the medical system .

'Satyamev Jayate' team immediately posted this announcement on their official Facebook page on Saturday. They wrote, "We are really happy to share this good news with you all as we echo Aamir's sentiments here!"

"Great news guys! Maharashtra govt. announces Generic medicines to be made available in all government hospitals and also plans to open medical stores across the state for Generic medicines," they added.

BJP MP Shanta Kumar, head of parliamentary standing committee for commerce in Rajya Sabha, has invited the actor to share his team's findings on irregularities in healthcare. Meanwhile, Aamir is also expected to give inputs regarding Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in the healthcare sector.

'Satyamev Jayate' is a television talk show co-produced and hosted by Aamir Khan. It is a weekly programme; every week the actor and his creative team would come up with a social issue and debate it amongst viewers and experts, while showing real life examples.

In one such episode earlier this month, Aamir exposed the irregularities in the country's healthcare system. The episode discussed about unethical practices followed by few doctors in a deal to rob the innocent and ignorant patients of money by suggesting them to go for expensive medication, for ailments that could be healed with ordinary medicines.

Aamir's revelations brought him a slew of both praises and brickbats. It became more controversial with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) stepping in. A section of doctors accused Aamir of projecting a folly image about medical practitioners and demanded an unconditional apology from him.

But several senior and wannabe doctors took Aamir's side, appreciating and thanking him for what he had done.
