Now it's official: Activision's "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" is slated for a release date of Nov. 13 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC gamers. The sequel game's UK website just went live on May 1 before the official reveal, confirming that "Black Ops 2" will launch this holiday season.

"Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 2' propels players into a near future, 21^st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare," the site's pre-order page says.

The website also includes a link to the first 'Black Ops 2' trailer, but this video is currently private and unable to be viewed.

"Where's the trailer Activision?" a comment reads under a black box where the trailer would be playing.

The video clip is teased on the website with a screenshot of a helicopter flying over a city that seems to be undergoing a chaotic battle.  The new game will be set in the near future in a war-torn Los Angeles, reports IGN, and the screenshot on the official page depicts just that.

The official trailer is set to be released later today around 6:30 p.m. PST/ 2:30 a.m. BST. A caption for an image that is currently grayed-out and unable to be viewed highlights a Quadrotor screenshot, which lines up with previous speculations that this will be included in the game. No other information is available at this time, but is said to be released later today.

In September, Activision said that the original "Black Ops" had seen sales of 23 million, according to Gamasutra, while 18 million copies of the DLC map pack for the game had also been sold. Activision has also said that a major update will launch with the "Black Ops" sequel that will add new features, known as "Call of Duty Elite 2.0."

Currently, "Call of Duty Elite" has over 40 million monthly active users, 10 million of which playing the original "Black Ops" and 20 million logging in to "Modern Warfare 3."

It seems Activision has had a hard time keeping the "Black Ops" sequel under wraps, as cover art was leaked towards the end of April.  The release date also leaked with the box art, which displayed the game's title and launch date over an image of a silhouetted man holding a gun.

A list of details revealing information about the multiplayer mode was also leaked in a PlayStation forum on April 22. None of this has been confirmed by Activision yet, but if fans were right about the game title and release date, it could be a possibility.
