Leaked Samsung Galaxy S3 Image and Service Manual Reveal Specs
The rumour mill surrounding the launch of Samsung's next flagship smartphone, revealed by a Samsung executive this morning as the Samsung Galaxy S3, and now what is reported to be a leaked official manual has given us some more clues about the Android smartphone, while a leaked image claims to be the real deal.
First up, let's look at the image. This latest leaked image of the Galaxy S3 was sent to website BGR and is the latest in a long line of leaked images and videos. The phone looks pretty authentic and the rather exaggerated volume rocker on the left-hand side matches up with the thumbnail image seen briefly on the Carphone Warehouse listing earlier this week. Adding more weight to the validity of this image is the leaked manual, which seem to match up to what we see above.
Images of the official service manual have been leaked to the SamMobile website by someone they call an 'insider' who claims to have got his hands on the official Service Manual for the Samsung GT-I9300, which is the rumoured code name for the Galaxy S3, which reveals some very interesting details about the new phone.
According to the Galaxy S3 manual, the smartphone will come with a 4.8in screen using a new type of Super AMOLED technology, which is almost as big as the Galaxy Note's huge 5.3ins screen. Yesterday Samsung revealed that the new phone would be powered by the Exynos Quad D chip featuring a 1.4GHz quad-core processor. However the manual claims the phone will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core, though this could be an early version of the manual. As you can see from the images, the new phone is set to retain the physical home button underneath the large screen.
As expected, the manual confirms the devcie will run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but the exact version is unknown. Those hoping for a 12 megapxiel camera like the Sony Xperia S, will be disappointed as the manual claims the Galaxy S3 will have an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera which features auto-focus and an LED flash, which is capable of recording video at 1080p.

In terms of connectivity, the device will feature Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a and support Bluetooth 4.0. Moreover, it will support data speeds up to HSPA+ (21Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps).
Moreover, the manual also suggests that the device could come with a wireless charging feature. In the leaked images, a notification-LED can be seen on the left-side of the front-speaker. Wireless charging has been one of the most anticipated features of Galaxy S3. It could eliminate wires and will have a built-in inductive charger. Samsung could possibly come up with wireless charging technology similar to that developed by HP, called TouchStone, which was incorporated in smartphones like the Palm Pre and the now-defunct TouchPad tablet. The device could be charged even when it is placed 1-2 metres away from the charger base.
Fans will have to wait until 3 May to check out the real flagship smartphone from Samsung.
