Wii U Will Be The Ultimate MMO Console Surpassing PS3 and Xbox 360
If rumors are to be believed, Nintendo’s tablet controller the Wii U will become the best MMO console ever made once it hits the market. The upcoming device, however, has received mixed reactions so far from developers all over the planet.
Previously a report from gamesindustry.biz said that the Nintendo’s next big game console lacked the power to compete with the current generation of consoles like PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
"No, it's not up to the same level as the PS3 or the 360," said an unnamed developer who's been working with the Wii U. "The graphics are just not as powerful".
"There aren't as many shaders, it's not as capable. Sure, some things are better, mostly as a result of it being a more modern design. But overall the Wii U just can't quite keep up," another developer said.
However, a new rumor has contradicted every other statement that has been made about the Wii U and has been stated by Funcom developer Joel Bylos in an interview with the official Nintendo magazine that Wii U could be the first real console on which running an MMORPG without compromise is possible.
He also added that the controller is perfect for lining up the hotbar rows that are essential in most MMOs. A customizable touchscreen interface combined with the 3D spatial movement of a console controller could be a winner.
The Nintendo Wii U is expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of this year and till then more news is expected to surface regarding the Wii u.
