Embassy Car Bombing: Red Motorbike Found

A red motorbike found in the national capital could be the one used to stick explosives on the car of an Israeli embassy official on Monday, media reports said.

An explosion occurred near the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi on Feb.13, 2012.

The bike has been found in Lado Sarai area, reported NDTV.

Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Tuesday had said a well trained person- who stuck the explosives to the car- executed the attack on Monday afternoon when the car of the embassy official went up in flames moments after something sticky was attached to it.

"It is quite clear that well trained person has committed the attack. It happened within second, within four to five seconds of being attached," he said.

The Home Minister said: "The target was Israel diplomat's wife (who is injured)."

Meanwhile, the forensic report of the explosion has been submitted to the Home Ministry, reports said. An Israeli probe team has joined the Indian police in the investigations.

The Home Minister earlier said the footage from closed-circuit cameras have not provided any clues so far.

The Israeli embassy car exploded in the national capital Monday seriously wounding four, including the Israeli diplomat's wife, in a terror attack squarely blamed on Iran and its "proxy group" Hezbollah militant organization by Israel.

The attack occurred around 3 p.m. near the 7 Race Course Road residence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when, officials said, a biker apparently followed the car and then stuck something magnetic on the vehicle causing the explosion.

The Innova SUV car was charred after it exploded near a petrol pump.

Tal Yeshova, the 40-year-old diplomat, who was going to take back her children from school, was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. The driver Manoj Sharma was also injured.

Two other occupants of another car sustained minor injuries.

Yeshova suffered shrapnel wounds in her liver, torso and spine. She is in a critical condition but stable, doctors said.
