Brazilian Navy Vice Admiral Edison Lawrence said the Brazilians "have information" that a French ship had found six more bodies, which would bring the total to 50.

Lawrence said he had no information about the sex of the bodies and added that it was not clear when the bodies were recovered. "It could be yesterday or today," Lawrence said.

The latest find, which comes almost two weeks after Flight 447 with 228 people on board is believed to have crashed into the ocean after encountering a violent thunderstorm, takes the total number of bodies recovered to 50.
