Hyderabad - India's second largest pharmaceutical company in terms of sales, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, said, Tuesday, it has signed a global distribution agreement for painkiller and anti-inflammatory drug Ibuprofen API with Albemarle Corporation.


According to the deal, the Louisiana-based specialty chemicals company shall supply Ibuprofen API from its Orangeburg plant in South Carolina, US, to Dr. Reddy's for distribution to its global client base.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
"Ibuprofen is used for the management of pain, fever, and inflammation and its market size is estimated at US$2.24 billion globally," the Indian drug maker said in a regulatory filing.
