Nokia N78 'multimedia computer' comes to India

Nokia's N78 mobile phone, positioned as a 'multimedia computer,' boasts of rich multimedia features like 3.2-megapixel camera, FM Radio, MP3 Player, GPS and a unique 'Location Tagger' application which automatically attaches location information to an image and allows the user to save images by date in addition to geographical coordinates.

This application will particularly enhance the experience of using the GPS and Nokia Maps, Vineet Taneja, Nokia India's Go-To-India.

"The Nokia N78 carries forward the Nokia N-Series legacy of superior technology combined with a sleek form factor and truly lives up to the N-Series promise of delivering unparalleled mobile multimedia experience with latest technologies and services. It is sure to appeal to consumers who appreciate style and technology in a single compact device," Taneja said.

"N78 features location tagging, which merges camera functionality and A-GPS to not only share pictures but also the places where they were taken," he said.

"We are looking at the next generation of Internet that has evolved towards social networking or Web 2.0 where people can participate and share their experiences through communities such as Facebook and Flickr," he added.

Nokia N78, which runs on Symbian S60 Operating System, is the slimmest of the Nokia N-Series and weighs only 101.8 grams.

It is available in India in two colors - cocoa brown and lagoon blue (the sleek black surface is common to both).
