Arsenal are said to have submitted a second bid in order to sign Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, after failing in their first attempt.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a holding midfielder, but signing Marcelo Brozovic is bound to bolster their impressive squad, who can also play that role, if asked.

Arsenal possess a number of midfielders in the squad, which includes Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere.

Arsenal's scouts have been keeping a close eye on Brozovic for some time now, with the midfielder putting in some impressive performances for Dinamo Zagreb.

Roping in the Croatian could make the Arsenal midfield more competitive, even if it will be tough for the Croat to figure in the starting eleven.

He will need to prove himself amidst a number of stars.

According to Sky Italia, the London club are said to have returned with an offer between £5.5-£7 million for the 22-year-old, who featured for Croatia in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The player might have moved to Dinamo Zagreb in 2012 from Lokomotiva, but has been earning a good name for himself in his homeland.

Even if Wenger might have placed a bigger bid than their previous one, it will be a big task for the Frenchman to lure him to the Emirates with other clubs across Europe interested.

AC Milan, Valencia and Everton are said to have shown interest in the midfielder, who has played for Croatia in various age groups, including under-19, 20 and 22.

With the player having joined the Croatian side on a seven year contract, Dinamo Zagreb would ask for a decent fee if the deal has to be struck, for they are aware of the talent that the player possesses.

He is a box to box midfielder who loves to bang in the goals when it comes his way. Brozovic has scored a nine goals in his Dinamo Zagreb career.

With age on his side the midfielder could be a good addition in Wenger's squad, for the player can dedicate some years as a Gunner and would learn under the watchful eyes of Wenger and a host of stars.
