Poonch, Jan 20 (ANI): Army officials and local residents in Jammu and Kashmir took up the ambitious cleanliness drive. Army personnel and civilians swept streets and gathered garbage along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district as a part of 'Clean India' mission, or 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. Army officials of the Nangi Tekri Battalion along with the civilians participated in the campaign and swept a three-kilometre stretch. Meanwhile, another resident Pashuram said that the mission should be held once in a month. India's burgeoning towns and cities are littered with garbage, the result of massive urban migration, poor civic planning and inadequate waste disposal systems, and rivers and lakes are polluted with sewage and industrial effluents.
