Ace musician AR Rahman has yet again entered the race for the Oscars. His soundtrack for the movie Pele: Birth of a Legend has been nominated for Best Original Score in Oscars 2017, according to the Financial Express.

The report said that as many as 145 songs have been shortlisted for the race of Oscars, out of which the final list of nominations will be made.

Also, Rahman's song Ginga from the movie on Pele has been shortlisted for the Best Original Song award for the upcoming Oscars. Rahman's song has made its place in the first shortlist with 91 other tracks, the report added.

This is the third time that Rahman's name has been shortlisted in both the categories of the Oscars. Earlier, the musician had won the Best Original Score for Slumdog Millionaire and Best Original Song for Jai Ho in 2009.

Although Rahman was nominated for the same two categories in 2011 as well for the movie 127 Hours, he could not bag an award. Nevertheless, the final list of nominations for Oscars 2017 will be announced on January 24.
