Since the beginning of 2016, we have been hearing quite a lot of chatter on the Internet that Apple may host an event in the first quarter. Now, a new report has surfaced online that the Cupertino-based company will be holding a press meet next month.
9to5Mac, citing reliable company sources, has claimed that Apple will host the spring launch event on 15 March to unveil the new iPhone 5se, iPad Air 3 and also a new line of wrist-band straps for Apple Watch.
Apple iPhone 5se:
Buoyed by popular demand from fans on social media platform, Apple has reportedly decided to bring back the 4.0-inch-based iPhone, which was last launched in 2013.
The new Apple handset, dubbed as iPhone 5se, is expected to replace the 2013 flagship iPhone 5s once it lands in the store shelves. It is said to feature same design language of iPhone 6, but in smaller dimensions. It will flaunt slim body with curved edges having white antenna stripes on the back and ring shaped Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the home button.
Under the hood, it is said to come packed with Apple's proprietary A9 processor, 8MP camera on the rear side with Live Photos feature, 1.2MP FaceTime snapper on the front, Bluetooth 4.2, VoLTE, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi chips.
Apple iPad Air 3:
Like iPhone 5se, Apple will also bring back the 9.7-inch tablet, which was last launched in 2014. The company is said to unveil iPad Air 3 with several upgrades over its predecessor iPad 2.
The new Apple slate is expected to house LED flash support for the primary camera on the rear-side to capture good quality images under low-light conditions.
Other enhancements include four speakers in the tablet to provide improved audio user-experience. The company has also used advanced display technology to support Apple Pencil input like the iPad Pro.
New Apple Watch accessory straps:
There will be no big announcements for Apple Watch fans other than the launch of new line of colour bands in Sports, Hermes and Milanese Loop edition. The company is also expected to release new Watch v2.2 OS update to bring value-added features to enhance user experience.
