APAN (Asia Pacific Actors Network) Star Awards 2016, which was held at MBC Sangam Culture Plaza on October 2, honoured the best talents of popular South Korean dramas.
APAN 2016 award show, which was hosted by Shin Dong Yup and Honey Lee, selected the winners after reviewing around 63 dramas that aired between September 2015 and September 2016, according to Soompi.com.
As expected, popular South Korean drama Descendants of the Sun won five awards, including the best drama of the year award. Song Joong Ki won the Grand Excellence Award, best APAN Star Award and the best couple award with Song Hye Kyo for Descendants of the Sun show.
"This is my first time receiving such a big prize and I don't know what to do. 'Descendants of the Sun' has received so much love until now, but I wouldn't be here if not for the hard work of my managers. There are also amazing senior actors here against whom I cannot even begin to be compared. I will work hard to show a good side of myself like my sunbaes from now on," Joong Ki said at the award ceremony.
tvN's Reply 1988 and MBC's W also took home awards last night.
