Marvel's tiniest superhero, who was last seen in "Captain America: Civil War" is coming to India, thanks to Star Movies. The Paul Rudd- starrer "Ant Man" is premiering on Indian television at 1 p.m. (IST) on Sunday, Sept. 11.
The superhero who proved that heroes come in all shapes and sizes uses the Ant-Man suit created by Dr. Henry 'Hank' Pym (Michael Douglas) to alter his size and fight bad guys. Scott Lang, an expert thief, was handpicked by Hank to defend the world using the Ant-Man technology, which is enabled by the "Pym Particle."
The film received a worldwide collection of over $ 500 million since its release and now it is coming to the Indian TV screens. Indians have not had a superhero like Ant-Man, someone who is hilarious and cool, along with being socially conscious and powerful. What would an Indian Ant-Man look like? Here is our take on who could bring Ant-Man to life in India:
Sidharth Malhotra: This "Ek Villain" actor can easily pull of the brooding hero, but fans have not really seen him play a silly, comedic character. However, he has shown elements of comedy in many of his films and being Ant-Man, he could really embrace his humorous side.
Riteish Deshmukh: If there is one thing you will see in the career of this Marathi actor, it is versatility. Whether it is the funny best friend or a calculating cold-blooded killer, Deshmukh embodies his characters with seeming ease. He would make a perfect Ant-Man.
Farhan Akhtar: This director-turned-actor showed us that he can be silly and funny in many of his roles. The dash of genuine human emotions make his characters believable and that perfect mix is what fans would get in Ant-Man, if Akhtar ever chooses to play the superhero.
R. Madhavan: This South Indian star looks the part of a family man, and he is definitely capable of bringing a plethora of emotions on the big screen. He would make an amazing Ant-Man who is equal parts foot-his-mouth funny and loves-his-daughter sober.
Aamir Khan: One of the most, if not the most versatile actors in Bollywood, Khan would be an amazing superhero, who is in his early stage of fatherhood. He has great chemistry with children and can do crazy action scenes.
