The battle for control of Higher Council of Judges and Prosecution has remained a sensitive topic. Previously in January also scuffles were in the Turkish parliament over the same draft bill.

While the government under the control of PM Tayyip Erdogan wants to pass the bill, the opposition claim that the move will tighten the government control over the judiciary and thereby give the PM, who is facing corruption charges, an easy way to quash the probe.

As per reports in The Times of Israel, following the inquiry against the Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, several key officials have been removed from their positions or transferred.

A similar violent incident this month was reported from India, where a Member of Parliament attacked others with a pepper spray, threw microphones and even reportedly brandished a knife. Several MPs were hospitalized following the pepper spray incident.
