In what could come as a pleasant surprise for LG V10 owners, Verizon Wireless has announced the release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its models. The carrier said in a statement the new firmware update would improve the mobile experience with new battery-smart features and enhanced app permissions.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will take the software version to VS99022A and come with features like Now on Tap, Doze mode, Runtime Permissions, Direct share and Controlling Notifications, as expected. The firmware roll-out should happen in stages like all OTA (over-the-air) updates, which means it may take time to reach some devices.

The South Korean technology giant has released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to LG G3, LG G4 and LG V10, but there is no word yet on when LG G Stylo and LG G Flex2 will receive it.
