Indians are in a festive mood celebrating Pongal, Makar Sankranti, Lohri and other harvest festivals.

While Pongal is the harvest festival of Tamil Nadu, Boghi is celebrated in Andhra Pradesh and Magh Bihu in Assam. Uttarayan, which is also celebrated as Makar Sakranti in northern part of the country, is when the sun travels northwards, which marks the end of the winter season.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many other celebs, including Amitabh Bachchan, Saina Nehwal and Mallika Sherawat among others have wished their fans and followers on this special festive day.
