The finale of Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story: Hotel" is upon us and the least we expect from the creative genius is a neat end to the complex plot. The previous seasons of "American Horror Story" have ended with events that symbolise the longevity of horror and violence in a particular place. Will Hotel Cortez continue to be the epicenter of gore and supernatural occurrences in season 5?

The synopsis for "American Horror Story: Hotel's" finale indicates a new era in the life of the Los Angeles Hotel. The summary details the future of Hotel Cortez while Liz and Iris are in charge. The two will try to ensure that the lodging facility is rid of all the bad juju, but in the aftermath of all that has occurred, will they be successful?

Last week's episode 11 titled "Battle Royale" captured a cameo appearance by Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe), who checks into the hotel. To her misfortune, she finds a very hungry (vampire) Ramona Royale (Angela Bassett) hiding in her room and a fight ensues. The character from Coven finally meets her death when James March (Evan Peters) kills her. Since the witch died in the hotel, she is most probably a ghost now and the show's Facebook page indicates that she will have a very important role to play.

Season 5 episode 12 of "American Horror Story: Hotel" will also include a cameo appearance by an old character from a previous show. While a recent report on E! Online states that Sarah Paulson will reprise her role as Billie Dean -- the psychic from season 1, a popular reddit theory argues that the actress could, in fact, appear as Cordelia Foxx from "American Horror Story: Coven".

The fan theory argues that Sarah Paulson looks more like Cordelia rather than Billie in the promo for season 5 episode 12 of "American Horror Story: Hotel". Furthermore, the actress' return as the witch from "American Horror Story: Coven" does indeed make sense because she could have pursued her friend Queenie.

If Hotel Cortez sees the entry of another witch, perhaps Iris (Kathy Bates) and Liz's (Denis O'Hare) attempt at ridding the place of supernatural creatures will prove futile.

TV Guide's synopsis of season 5 episode 12 titled "Be our Guest" reads:

In the season finale, a new era begins at the Cortez under Iris and Liz. Elsewhere: John and Alex struggle to adapt to life outside the hotel.

"American Horror Story: Hotel" season 5 finale will be aired on Wednesday, 13 January, at 9pm on FX. You can live stream the episode here.
