Telugu actor Allu Sirish, who is basking in the success of superhit movie Srirastu Subhamastu, is all set to make his acting debut in Malayalam. The young star will be sharing the screen space with superstar Mohanlal in his next.

Sirish, brother of superstar Allu Arjun, will make a grand entry to Mollywood with Major Ravi's upcoming project 1971 Beyond Borders, which will go on floors soon.

Overwhelmed with the grand offer with the legendary star, Sirish said: "I'm excited to share screen space in a full length supporting role alongside legendary Mohanlal sir. I play a tank commander in the film. I was keen on making debut in Malayalam and this seemed to me perfect launch."

"What I loved about the film is that it's not jingoistic or anti-Pakistan. It's a human drama with emotions. Going by the mood of the nation, this is the kind of film to be watched out," he added.

Earlier, Baahubali: The Beginning-fame Rana Daggubati was said to be doing the role in the upcoming movie. However, the actor denied the news by tweeting "This is news to me :)! What film is this ???/ [sic]" putting the rumours mills to rest.

1971 Beyond Borders, based on a real incident, is expected to narrate the life and friendship of two Indian Army officials, likely to be played by Mohanlal and Sirish. The superstar is said to have been seen in three different get-ups as Major Mahadevan, an iconic character played by him in superhit movies Keerthi Chakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar. The upcoming movie is being bankrolled by Haneef Muhammed under the banner of Red Rose Creations.
