South Indian film star Allu Arjun, who was recently honoured with the Filmfare Best Actor Award, has dedicated it to late legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), prompting Nagarjuna to thank him for his gesture.

Allu was nominated for Best Actor Filmfare Award along with Mohan Babu (Rowdy), Nagarjuna (Manam), Sharwanand (Run Raja Run) and Venkatesh (Drushyam). But the viewers voted Bunny as the Best Actor for his amazing performance in director Surender Reddy's hit movie "Race Gurram".

The stylish cine star sported black pants and shirt, teamed with blue blazer, at the prestigious Britannia Filmfare Awards South ceremony at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on 26 June and he was the cynosure of all eyes.

After receiving the award, Allu took to his Twitter page to thank the cast and crew of "Race Gurram" for their support. He posted a photograph featuring him with Filmfare trophy and wrote: "I thank the entire cast n crew of RG for their support ! Sply dir Suri ! I dedicate this to our legendary ANR Garu."

Akkineni Nageswara Rao's son Nagarjuna Akkineni, who is one of the most popular 'Tollywood' actors, was touched by the gesture of Allu Arjun and he thanked him for it on Sunday. The actor tweeted: "Thank you Allu Arjun for dedicating your award to ANR and your words."

ANR, who passed away on 22 January, 2014, starred in over 255 films in his acting career spanning 75 years. He last featured in "Manam", which had released on 23 May, 2014, four months after his death.

The movie has topped the Telugu winners list of the 62th Filmfare Awards South with four coveted awards - Best Film, Best Director, Best Music Director and Best Lyricist.
