Emraan Hashmi and Mahesh Bhatt have been one of the popular actor-director duos in with hits like "Gangster," "Raaz" and "Murder." Though the filmmaker introduced Emraan to the industry, the actor seemed to have miffed Mahesh by turning down a film.

"Bhatt saab had offered 'Ab Ratt Guzarnewali Hai' to Emraan Hashmi but the actor had recently turned down the offer leaving the filmmaker miffed. The film, which features debutant Alisha Khan is a crime-thriller based on a real incident that took place in Ranchi a while ago and is written by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Gurudev Bhalla," a source told Deccan Chronicle.

This is not the first time that Emraan disappointed Mahesh with his behavior. Earlier in 2014, Emraan had to schedule his dates for "Raja Natwarlal" and Mahesh Bhatt's "Mr. X." The actor was supposed to wrap up "Mr. X" in 10 days, but he chose to give away those dates to the makers of "Raja Natwarlal." This did not go down well with Mahesh and now again, Emraan rejecting the filmmaker's film added fuel to the fire.

As Emraan refused to do the film, there is no male lead for Mahesh Bhatt's next. "The film is supposed to go on floors in June but the male lead is yet to be finalised. However, the good thing is that even before the shoot starts, Alisha Khan and Bhatt seem to be bonding well," added the source.

Meanwhile, Emraan will appear in "Azhar," which is slated to be released on May 13. The film is based on the life of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin and it features Emraan, Nargis Fakhri, Prachi Desai and Gautam Gulati in pivotal roles.

He has also wrapped up shooting of Vikram Bhatt's "Raaz 4," in which he will be seen playing a vampire's character. Except for the first part, Emraan featured in "Raaz 2" and "Raaz 3," which had impressed fans.
