Hyundai has been spied testing its upcoming i20 in India again, giving out clues that the launch of the car is imminent in the country.

The new i20, the Korean car maker's upcoming offering in its i20 lineup, has already made numerous appearances on the web through spy images and leaked reports. The latest spy pics have been posted by Motoroids, who caught the car testing near Chennai.

Although the new set of pics do not have anything new to reveal about the Hyundai's next generation i20, the repeated sightings of the car on Indian roads signals the car has entered one of the final production stages.

In the pics, the new i20 was seen highly camouflaged and seems to have borrowed its design and styling cues from the company's fluidic design language.

Hyundai i20, which is believed to be one of the 22 cars that the company plans to launch under the 'Product Momentum 2017′ badge in the next three years, is also likely to house safety features like ABS and airbags.

If rumours are to be believed, the Hyundai i20 will be making its public debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October and hitting the domestic market in the next four months.

Codenamed "IB", 2015 i20 India bound version is speculated to come with 1.4-liter diesel and 1.2-liter Kappa2 engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed manual transmission. While the petrol engine is expected to churn out 83bhp of power and 113Nm of peak torque, the diesel engine is to give 89bhp of power and 219Nm of torque.

The car is speculated to parade tweaks in its headlight, tail light and bumper. Other features expected include alloy wheels, climate control, keyless entry, steering mounted audio controls, reverse camera, parking sensors and automatic day/night interior mirror.

The car will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Tata Bolt, Toyota Etios Liva and Ford Figo in the country.

Besides i20, the Korean auto maker is also expected to launch the globally acclaimed i30 premium hatchback in India during the festive season this year. Globally, the Hyundai i30 comes in three versions - three-door, five-door and an Estate and is offered with four engine options -1.6-litre MPi, 1.6-litre GDi, 1.8-litre MPi and a 1.6-litre VGT.
