Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has not turned back since debut film "Student of the Year." Being in the A-list of filmmakers, the "Shaandaar" actress has recently revealed that she wanted to work with ace director Mani Ratnam.

"My dad (Mahesh Bhatt) keeps pushing me to watch regional films. He had said that I should definitely do Bengali films. I've always wanted to work with Mani Ratnam, so maybe I'll go down south and work with Mani sir," IANS quoted Alia as saying.

Alia, who wishes to star in Mani's film, has been offered to work with him but the actress turned down the proposal at that time. There were reports that Mani wanted the pair of Alia and Varun Dhawan in the Hindi version of "OK Kanmani," a Tamil film that starred Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen.

However, Alia had to let it go due to other commitments and thus, the Hindi version "OK Jaanu" now stars Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur. On the other hand, fans would love to see Alia in Mani's film, she had already captured hearts as a Tamilian girl in "2 States."

Meanwhile, the actress is busy with the promotions of her upcoming flick "Kapoor and Sons" alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan. She is also shooting for Gauri Shinde's project in Goa, where the story is about a young girl who meets three men and with every relationship her perspective about life changes.

Shah Rukh Khan will reportedly play one of the three men's character. As earlier reported, Kunal Kapoor and Pakistani actor Ali Zafar have been roped in to play the other two men in Alia's character's life.

The actress will also be seen in "Udta Punjab" opposite Shahid Kapoor and has also signed Ayan Mukherji's next with Ranbir Kapoor.
