Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew dismissed signings advice from former manager Neil Warnock, saying the club had no interest in Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin. Pardew snubbed Warnock in comments at a press conference ahead of Palaces clash against Southampton on 9 January.

Warnock was a manager here, and he didnt do very well, so Im not really interested in his opinion, Pardew said. Charlie Austin is of no interest to us.

Ive seen all of the names linked with us and not one of them is true. Someone is giving out false misinformation. It would be stupid for me to say who we are in for. Steve Parish and I are in contact every day.

Were in a position where we can perhaps can be a little more relaxed about it. There is a little less pressure. That doesnt mean we are not on our game and that were determined to make sure that if something is there for us it is right.
