Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie "Housefull 3" is likely to have lost a good chunk of viewers, courtesy Twinkle Khanna's tweet on Art of Living pioneer Sri Sri Ravishankar. Akshay's wife took to Twitter and apparently mocked Sri Sri Ravishankar for his recent remark on Malala Yousafzai getting Noble Prize, irking the spiritual leader's followers.

"Sri Sri got his nobel foot and half his beard stuck in his mouth in a yogic pose that BabaRamdev perfected a while ago #HolyMenAndHairyTales [sic]," Twinkle tweeted. This was apparently met with harsch criticism from irked followers of Sri Sri Ravishankar, and Twinkle eventually deleted the tweet and apologised with a fresh tweet saying: "Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings was meant to be a joke and am old enough to accept an error of judgement on my part [sic]."

However, like all the followers of Sri Sri Ravishankar, international director of Art of Living Darshak Hathi was miffed by the tweet and said on the micro-blogging site the spiritual leader's followers would boycott Akshay's movie "Housefull 3." "Millions of Followers r going2 boycott #Housefull3 4 hurting d sentiments by inappropriate &ill intended comments f @mrsfunnybones on Sri Sri [sic]," he wrote.

In response to Twinkle's deletion of the tweet and apology, he said: "Error of Judgement or Fear of #BoycottHousefull3. Anyway Being Old & Being wise is different thing [sic]."

Twinkle in response expressed her displeasure at her husband Akshay being dragged into the issue. "Art of living teacher practicing Art of intimidation? Didn't like my joke diss me-drag my husband, boycott etc #Shame [sic]," she tweeted. Hathi's reply came: "@mrsfunnybones My tweet was in respond to your tweet which has hurt my sentiments. I appreciate that you have gracefully deleted it [sic]."

While Hathi too deleted his first two tweets of boycotting "Housefull 3," the Twitter banter did not stop there as Twinkle said: "@DarshakHathi I have a snapshot of what you said after i apologised and deleted my joke 'Fear of Boycott Housefull3' is this art of living? [sic]."

Hathi, too, then apologised for his tweet and wrote: "@mrsfunnybones it happens when sentiments are hurt. No hard feeling. Sorry if you r hurt [sic]."

"Housefull 3," starring Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon and Jacqueline Fernandez, is slated to be released on June 3. Now only time will tell if Twinkle's tweet on Sri Sri Ravishankar has any affect on the upcoming film's box office collection or the spiritual leader's followers accept her apology.
