Akshay Kumar's "Housefull 3" raked in an impressive Rs 61.56 crore within four days of its release. Trade experts are predicting it may break records that Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan's comedy films have set back in the day.

"Collections are the most objective way in which one can assess the success of a film. And box-office collections prove beyond doubt that 'HF 3' is the biggest comedy so far. That it will surpass the first two in the franchise viz. 'Housefull' and 'Housefull 2' is now a given after the huge weekend but it may also mean that it will surpass the total collections of 'Ready,' another hit comedy," a source told Mumbai Mirror adding that it could also outshine Amitabh's "Namak Halal."

"'Namak Halal' is another successful comedy which comes to mind. 'Housefull 3' may well become the new comedy benchmark from now on," the insider further elaborated.

Akshay is happy with the way viewers are responding to the third instalment. But he also told DNA about how tough and challenging it was to play a character with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

The scenes, in which he needed to transform from Sandy to Sundi, had to be done in a single shot. This made the job tougher for the actor. He told the daily how there was this one time when he forgot, which character he was playing. The scene he's talking about is in the gag reel that plays while the end credit rolls.

Directed by Sajid-Farhad, the comic caper also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon, Boman Irani and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
