Actor Aju Varghese is currently one of the most popular actors in Malayalam cinema. After a series of comedy roles, the actor is currently shooting for his upcoming movie "Mariyam Mukku" with Fahadh Faasil.
The actor will be seen as an Anglo Indian and his character name will be Lloyd Casper Anderson. He has changed his look for the movie with chin puff moustache, coloured hair and contact lens.
"I am playing an Anglo-Indian guy named Lloyd Casper Anderson. Lloyd, who has been living away from home, returns to his hometown and gets involved in certain issues happening in the coastal village. It is a small yet important role in the movie. My character is introduced in the second half," Aju said to The Times of India.
Aju made his acting debut in 2010 with the Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial "Malarvadi Arts Club". Following some cameo roles, the actor became one of the young actors in Malayalam cinema who could perform both comic and character roles with ease.
The year 2014 is special for Aju as he acted in nearly nine movies, including "Om Shanti Oshana", "Pakida", "Polytechnic", "Ring Master", "Pianist", "Monayi Angane Aanayi", "Peruchazhi", "Vellimoonga" and "Ormayundo Ee Mugham" and is awaiting the release of two movies along with Jayasurya - "Mathai Kuzhappakkaranalla" and "Lal Bahadur and Shasthri".
"I am trying to take up diverse roles as much as possible. In the upcoming movie, 'Lal Bahadur and Shasthri', I am playing a character role alongside Jayasurya and Nedumudi Venu. I am happy with the way my career is progressing," added the actor.
Meanwhile, "Mariyam Mukku" is directed by James Albert, who had earlier scripted films like "Classmates", "Cycle", "Evidam Swargamanu", "Venicile Vyaapari", "Jawan of Vellimala" and "Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal".
The upcoming movie is touted as a romantic comedy entertainer, which is set in a village that has historical significance called Mariyam Mukku. Fahadh will play the role of Albert, a fisherman and Sana Altaf will be his love interest in the movie.
The film also has Manoj K Jayan, Joy Mathew, Nedumudi Venu, Neeraj Madhav and Irshad in pivotal roles. The cinematography of the upcoming movie is done by Gireesh and the music is composed by Vidyasagar.
The shooting of "Mariyam Mukku" is currently progressing in Thankassery, Kollam.
