The 12 million hits that the "Shivaay" trailer has garnered so far on YouTube alone explain why it's one of the best of the recent times. Beautifully crafted action sequences with right amount of thrills, the promo to this Ajay Devgn-starrer is making the wait for Diwali harder.

According to the Asian Age, the engagement on the "Shivaay" trailer is the "biggest" seen by any Hindi film yet. Also, there are over 2 lakh likes within 3 days of its release. Additionally, the action thriller has an impressive 281,000 hits on its Facebook upload and a staggering 37,000 organic comments on both Facebook and Twitter.

Given the kind of hard work Ajay put into the film, it is only justified that the "Shivaay" trailer has been met with such positive responses on social media and off it.

Arjun Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Amish Tripathi (Author of the Shiva trilogy), Arshad Warsi, Divya Dutta, Nikkhil Advani, Satish Kaushik and Ekta Kapoor among other stars have given a thumbs up to the stylised promo.

What else is happening with the film

"Shivaay" has been helmed by Ajay. Scheduled to arrive in theatres on Oct. 28, same day as Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," the film features Sayyeshaa Saigal and Polish actress Erika Kaar in lead roles.

Even though box office battles have become commonplace in Bollywood, it does bother actors. However, Ajay is unfazed by the competition. "The clash really doesn't matter. Though, a solo release is always a solo release. I am more concerned about what I am doing. I am not concerned about what others are doing," he said.

Trivia

Ajay is returning to direction after 8 long years. His first was "U Me Aur Hum," which had a completely different premise (from that of "Shivaay") where his onscreen wife, played by Kajol, is shown to be suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
