Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty's "Golmaal 4" is expected to roll this November and arrives in theatres on Diwali 2017. Unfortunately, Kareena Kapoor Khan will not join the director-actor duo in the fourth instalment.

A SpotboyE report claims that Alia Bhatt is the new entrant in the franchise. Rohit has apparently shown keen interest in the young actress and discussed the project with her.

About Kareena being part of the project:

There was a strong buzz that she had been considered for the lead role, but she couldn't commit since she will be taking a maternity break October onwards. Kareena is due to deliver a baby this December. However, there are sources who claim that she was never approached at all.

The 34-year-old actress has been signed on for Rhea Kapoor's "Veere Di Wedding," which also stars Sonam Kapoor. She will work on this one film and a string of commercials for the coming few months.

Meanwhile, here's what else we know about the film:

"Housefull 3" directors Sajid-Farhad are busy writing the film. Up until a few days ago, it was being said that the film is an official remake of the hit Tamil film, "Soodhu Kavvum," but that possibility has been ruled out now.

We would like to state that the news is completely untrue and baseless," the official publicist of "Golmaal 4" said in a statement.

Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade will be reprising their roles in the film.

Trivia

Ajay and Rohit have done five films together so far: "Zameen," "Golmaal," "Golmaal Returns," "Singham," "Golmaal 3," and "Singham Returns."
