"Ahalya" director Sujoy Ghosh is ready to begin his newest feature film with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. An adaptation of Keigo Huganshino's Japanese novel "The Devotion Of Suspect X", the thriller will sure send a chill down everyone's spine.

"My next film will star Aishwarya, Saif and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. I've worked with Nawaz in Kahaani and boy, has he come a long way! I have never worked with Aishwarya and Saif before, so looking forward to it," the filmmaker told Subhash K Jha.

However, given the novel's plot, it seems that the former beauty queen could turn killer in the film.

Yasuko Hanaoka, a single mother, murders her ex-husband when he tries to extort money from her. Neighbour and mathematician Tetsuya Ishigami steps in. Taken by Yasuko, he helps the lady cover-up her act of crime.

Although, the characters haven't been revealed yet and this may be, at best, a speculation; there are good reasons to believe Aishwarya may play the single mother who kills the abusive ex-husband.

Interestingly, if she were to play a murderer, she wouldn't be doing it for the first time. Critically acclaimed crossover film "Provoked" had her essay a physically abused married woman who kills her husband.

In other news, the leading lady's best friend, Preity Zinta, has spoken at length about how stellar she looks in comeback film "Jazbaa".

"Aishwarya is looking absolutely smashing in the teasers of Jazbaa. Who says female actors, after marriage, are no longer in demand? Ash's getting the best of both the worlds. She's a great mom and wife, and she's doing the work that she wants to, on her own terms," the senior journalist quoted Preity as saying.
