Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Start Working on 'Jazbaa' from Next WeekVarinder Chawla

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is set to make a comeback with Sanjay Gupta's "Jazbaa" after a hiatus of four years, will start working for the film from next week.

Director Sanjay Gupta along with Aishwarya and her co-stars Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher and others, is said to undergo a detailed script-reading session on 12 January.

The session was supposed to take place on 9 January but got postponed due to Khan's poor health.

"The makers want the actors and other technicians to be comfortable with one another and let them understand each other's working styles before the film starts rolling. That's why the entire primary, as well as secondary cast (of about 17-18 actors) in addition to the heads of the other departments of the movie, will be present at the script-reading session." a source told Hindustan Times.

Although, script-reading sessions with the entire team are not common in Bollywood, Gupta believes that such sessions help the cast bond among themselves before the shoot begins.

"Internationally, it's the norm. More than anything, it helps the cast bond with each other before the shooting starts. It's a better arrangement than having the actors reach the sets and directly begin reading their lines in front of each other." said Gupta.

"Jazbaa" is a female-centric film and will have the former Miss World play the lead role of a lawyer. The film will see the actress perform some never-seen-before action scenes.

There were also reports that the "Guzaarish" actress will sport a completely different look in the film.

Reportedly, the makers are planning to wrap the shoot at the earliest so as to keep it ready for screening at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year, which Aishwarya has been attending for a decade now.

There were also news that certain adjustments have been made to the actress' work schedule. The beauty queen is said to be available to the film's director only when her daughter, Aaradhya, needs no assistance at home.
