Aishwarya Rai Bachchan became a death hoax victim when reports of her having committing suicide surfaced on the internet. Apparently, she took a heavy dose of sedatives following her spat with in-laws over the steamy scenes she shot for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

The actress was at celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra's 50th birthday bash when the death hoax went viral on social media and several publications began writing about it. An insider was with the leading lady when the news broke, Hindustan Times reported.

"I was with Aishwarya and Abhishek till 2am today (Monday) morning at designer Manish's home. She looked radiant and happy, posing for photographs. A lot of guests complimented her for how stunning she looked in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and her husband seemed rather pleased about it," the source elaborated.

Meanwhile, Outlook Pakistan reported that after the actress regained consciousness, she told her doctor: "Let me die, it is better to die than living such pathetic life." Apparently, the Bachchan household did not want any media attention and therefore decided to treat her at home.

In other news, there has been quite a bit of noise about her agreeing to shoot for bold scenes with Ranbir Kapoor in Karan Johar's ADHM. There was this idea that her in-laws — Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan — weren't pleased about her decision. It was being said that husband Abhishek Bachchan too hadn't watched the film and is particularly miffed with her for doing intimate scenes.

The rumours went on until senior actor, Amitabh, told the media that he was glad how Aishwarya's portrayal of Saba in ADHM has turned the tables on men.
