Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai on Wednesday celebrated the 20th anniversary of the moment when she was crowned Miss World.

On 19 November, 1994, Aishwarya Rai won the Miss World title beating 86 other contestants. The beauty pageant was held in Sun City, South Africa.

Miss World 2013, Lisa Hanna of Jamaica crowned Aishwarya Rai on 19 November, 1994.

The Bollywood diva, now known as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, celebrated the 20th anniversary of her title victory in Mumbai on Wednesday along with her father's birthday.

The actress sponsored surgeries of 100 children with clefts to mark the 20th anniversary.

"Aishwarya is sponsoring the surgeries of 100 children with clefts to mark the 20th anniversary of her winning the Miss World pageant. She will also be meeting around 50-60 children, and will celebrate the day with them," Hindustan Times quoted the actor's spokesperson as saying.
