After movies, Bollywood's 'IT' couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan will now work together to support UK diabetes awareness charity.

The couple recently attended the 25th anniversary celebrations of Britain's longest serving Indian origin Member of Parliament, Keith Vaz. Vaz, who is suffering from type-3 diabetes, chose the event to support the work of Silver Star, a Leicester-based diabetes charity.

The event took place at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel, London. The Bollywood power couple also posed with Amitabh Bachchan's wax statue which was placed at the event from London's Madame Tussauds.

Ash-Abhi will also attend a dinner in support of the charity and will raise funds for the fourth mobile diabetes unit to be based in Mumbai.

The Mumbai-based unit will be named after Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and will be handed over to the star on his 70th birthday on Oct. 11 this year.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan has been connected with this charity since long time. He has made some considerable monetary contributions to the charity and had attended the gala dinner in 2009 along with Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and actor Sanjay Dutt. In 2009, Mumbai got its first mobile diabetes unit which was presented by Big B.

"I am very excited to be hosting Bollywood's power couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan for such a special occasion. I am delighted that the Bachchan family is part of such a worthwhile cause," Press Trust of India quoted Vaz as saying.

The guests at the 2012 gala dinner will be entertained with music by Raghu Dixit and Preeya Kaalidas and the keynote speech will be delivered by speaker of the House of Commons, Rt Hon John Bercow MP.
