Actresses have come a long way in their acting career in Bollywood, but making a mark in the glamorous world has not been easy for them. Not only did they have to work really hard, some actresses even had to give up their studies to build a career in the film industry.

From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Alia Bhatt, many Bollywood divas are actually dropouts. The beauties have dropped their degree courses in between and turned to modelling and acting instead.

Here are few of the Bollywood actresses who dropped out of college:

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was passionate about zoology but later got into Raheja College for a degree in Architecture. The diva was a brilliant student from the beginning, but had to dropout to pursue a career in modelling after winning the Miss World pageant.

Alia Bhatt

The "Student of The Year" actress entered Bollywood when she was just 19. Apparently, Alia Bhatt has never been interested in studies and soon after completing school, she forayed into the film industry.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone enrolled in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to study Bachelor of Arts in sociology. But the actress grew so fast as a Bollywood actress that she didn't complete her bachelors.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan opted to be a lawyer by enrolling in the Government College in Mumbai. But she gave up on the idea and decided to join the film industry.

Priyanka Chopra

The former Miss World switched to film career after winning the title. Before that she studied in United States and wanted to become a software engineer or a criminal psychologist.

Katrina Kaif

Bollywood's Barbie took up modelling at a very young age and then entered the film industry. Katrina Kaif has hardly been to school and after getting into the glam world, she did not have much time to get a degree.

Kangana Ranaut

"Queen" actress Kangana Ranaut wanted to become a doctor but instead moved to Delhi and joined a theatre group called Ashmit. From there, she began her journey in Bollywood.

Kajol

Kajol started her acting career at the age of 17 and couldn't finish school. Similarly, Karisma Kapoor discontinued her studies to build an acting career.
