Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur-starrer "Airlift" witnessed 18% growth on its second day at the domestic box office. The two-day box office collection of "Airlift" now stands at Rs 26.95 crore.

"Airlift", based on the world's biggest evacuation of expatriates stranded in a foreign country, has been performing well at multiplexes in major cities, which resulted in a good two-day box office income. The film should also have a good run on its third day, i.e. on Sunday due to the holiday.

"#Airlift has a GOOD jump on Day 2. Is winning hearts. Winning the BO. Fri 12.35 cr, Sat 14.60 cr. Total: ₹ 26.95 cr. Sun will be better, (sic)" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, adding, "#Airlift Sun biz should be EXCELLENT. Mon evening should gather momentum again since Tue is a big holiday [26 Jan]. Tue will be HUGE. (sic)"

"Airlift", helmed by Raja Krishna Menon, has received positive reviews from critics as well as audiences. The strong word of mouth on social media will also boost the box office business of the film. "Airlift" will have an excellent opening weekend box office collection of more than Rs 40 crore. The opening weekend earnings might touch Rs 45 crore, depending on how it fares on Sunday.

The growth is excellent in several circuits of big cities, and will continue to show an upward trend, but "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3" is trending in small circuits. Nevertheless, the film will have a good theatrical run in India as well as overseas.

The opening weekend box office collection of "Airlift" is set to emerge as the highest three-day grosser in the genre, according to Koimoi.com. "Airlift" might beat the three-day box office collection of "Gabbar Is Back" (Rs 40 crore) and "Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" (Rs 40.49 crore), both of which also starred Akshay Kumar.
