Malaysia-based carrier Air Asia has offered 15 lakh promotional tickets with a starting price of ₹690, for one-way journey to specific destinations in India.

The bookings for these offers began on Monday, and can be made till 5 October. The travel dates permitted under this offer are from 15 January to 30 June in 2015.

The ticket price to travel from Bengaluru to Chennai or Kochi is ₹690, while the cost to travel from Bengaluru to Jaipur is ₹2,390. Besides, an inclusive rate to travel from Chennai/Kochi/Kolkatta/Tiruchirapalli/Bengaluru to Kuala Lumpur is ₹4,999, and ₹4,500 for Chennai to Bangkok.

Currently, Bangalore is the hub to five destinations - Goa, Kochi, Chennai, Jaipur and Chandigarh.

Moreover, the carrier also plans to expand its reach through the loyalty program segment via talks with Indian banks.

"Actually to be honest, we have been in discussions for a while with Indian banks - private and public - to enter into card loyalty programme to expand regional reach," PTI quoted Loh Wai Meng, chief operating officer of AirAsia BIG.

The deal with Indian banks, expected by next year, will help loyalty cardholders to transform their reward points to BIG points, which will help them to travel in the low-cost airline.

Meng added that the airline has already made tie-ups with banks in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, and is now expected to make tieups in India by next year.
