After grabbing the music rights of big films like Vikram's "I" and Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal", Sony Music has now bagged the music rights of the upcoming magnum opus "Puli" starring Vijay.

Reports are that Sony has grabbed the rights by paying a whooping sum; however the company has not given out any details regarding the deal yet.

The music for the movie is composed by Devi Shri Prasad and the lyrics are written by Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu.

Actor Vijay is known in the industry for associating his movies with some of the reputed music companies. His previous movie "Kaththi's" music was bagged by Eros Music, "Jilla" by Star Music and "Thuppakki", and "Nanban" music rights were bagged by Gemini Music.

Directed by Chimbudevan, magnum opus period drama "Puli" was made with a budget of ₹90 crore. The film's shooting kick-started on 12 November at a palatial set made in Adityaran Studios in Chennai. As per the latest reports, the crew has been shooting for 75 days and will now be filming in Kerala.

"Puli" is one of the most-talked about films of Vijay and reports suggest the actor will be seen in three different looks. Meanwhile, Kannada superstar Sudeep will play the antagonist, Hansika and Shruthi Haasan will play the lead roles, and legendary actress Sridevi will play a pivotal role too.

Reports are that Hansika will play the role of a princess where as Sridevi will don the role of her mother and the queen of an ancient kingdom.

"Puli" starcast also includes Prabhu, Nandita, Vijayakumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Naren, Soori, Joe Malloori, Ajay Rathnam, Ali, Srinivasan, and Vidyullekha Raman.
