After launching smartphone, wearables, Smart TV, Camera and Gaming products Mi brand famed Xiaomi is on the way to make affordable smartshoes for the consumers.

For making the dream come true, Xiaomi has tied up with China's sports merchandise manufacturer Li Ning.

He said its partnership with Huami Technology, the fitness wearable company behind the Mi band and part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, is the first collaboration between sports and "smart" technology in China.

"We have chosen to collaborate with the Mi band because of Huami Technology's strength in 'smart' wearable products," Ning said in a statement on Monday. "We hope to use this opportunity to provide professional "smart" running shoes to running enthusiasts in Chinaat an affordable price."

The Xiaomi Smartshoes will be using running shoes and install smart chips on the soles of the shoes. Focusing on running, the smartshoe will be connected to a dedicated app developed by Xiaomi, which will allow runners to keep track of their progress and results, analyse their form, and monitor their achievements.

If Xiaomi manages to bring the shoes with an affordable price tag, they will achieve another great success in the consumer technology industry. Apart from that, Xiaomi will be the first smartphone company to debut in the Smartshoes category.

There are also some rumours that Xiaomi is also making a wearable Smartwatch which will take on the likes of Apple Watch. While most of the major tech companies are already there in the Smartwatch war, it will be interesting to notice the price tag Xiaomi will offer.

In addition to a Xiaomi smartwatch, a report from China also revealed that an Mi Band successor is also in the pipeline. The company was successful with its $13 Mi Band launched in December. The Mi Band sold over one million units since it became available from August last year. With a few improvements, Xiaomi will make a similar splash in the wearable market.
